Filter System Maintenance
Whirlpool water filters give you a variety of water filtration options. These include filtration of water used in the kitchen and for chilling in your refrigerators. Most of these water filters are economically priced, and give you pure and great tasting water. They can be used both at home and in office, and can filter several gallons of water every day.
Whirlpool makes three kinds of water filters. These are:
1. Whirlpool Whole House Water Filters: The Whirlpool whole house water filters remove sediments such as lead, rust, dirt along with pathogens such as E.coli, salmonella and giardia. These filters are installed in the water line entering the house, and also serve as pre-filters.
2. Whirlpool Reverse Osmosis Water Filters: In the Whirlpool reverse osmosis water filter systems pressurized water travels through several different kinds of filters. These include: large sediment filters that hold back large particles, a carbon filter that removes chlorine, odor and taste, and a two way semi-permeable membrane at the core that removes the most microscopic of water-borne contaminants.
3. Whirlpool Refrigerator Water Filters: These are high performance filters that make sure that the water and ice being dispensed from the fridge is crystal clear. These filters are easy to install and change; the water pressure simply drops off or a change indicator light comes on whenever the filter needs to be changed.
Whirlpool refrigerator filters are designed to last for 200 gallons or 6 months, whichever comes first. It is imperative that you change the filter after this period. This is more or less true for all brands. Very often a glass of water may appear pure and odorless, but at a microscopic level it may be quite another story.
All Whirlpool filters come with appropriate certifications, which means that your water is in good hands.
