About Brita Water Filter

Brita Water Filter

You can be sure of pure water with Brita water filters

Brita water filters are the result of one man’s foresight. Way back in 1966, Heinz Hankammer living in a small town in Germany realised that water sources were exposed to environmental hazards and that with time safe drinking water could become a major concern. He set about solving the problem by developing a simple filter that could be mounted on a tap to give completely desalinated water. He called the filter AquaDeMat and the company Brita.

In time, this big idea took wings and Brita pitchers, faucets filtration systems and coolers became household names. Today Brita water filters are synonymous with clean and better tasting water. This is because all their filters irrespective of the model and technology, work at removing impurities both organic as well as inorganic.

Brita has several popular models like filter jug and tap mounted. Both are installed at point of use and work effectively to remove substances and additives that are potentially harmful to health. At the same time they let dissolved minerals, which are good for health, pass through easily.

Brita’s Maxtra filters are equally easy to install. They use a four-step filtration process to ensure water that is both pure and good to taste. In Stage 1, which is the pre-filtration stage, the water flows through a fine mesh filter.

In Stage 2, which is the Ion Exchange Filtration, the filter cartridge that has an ion exchange resin reduces the carbonate hardness. Levels of metals such as aluminium, copper and lead are also significantly reduced at this stage.

In Stage 3, which the Activated Carbon Filtration stage, the granulated activated carbon reduces substances that affect the smell and taste of tap water. Finally, in Stage 4, which is the Intensive Final Filtration stage, a fine mesh particle filter stops impurities from passing through.

So if you want pure water that tastes good bring home a Brita water filter. Fifty million people in over seventy countries already have.
